Holmes County Ohio is the Perfect Summer Vacation

Visit Holmes County Ohio for the perfect summer vacation spot.  Not only is it the home of the World's Largest Amish Community, but there is so much more!   If animals are your thing you have got to visit Rolling Ridge Ranch where you can ride on a horse-drawn wagon and feed approximately 500 animals from all over the world.   Perhaps you are a "foodie" and want to visit a cheese factory.  You will have many to choose from...at Heini's you can sample around 50 different cheeses while at Guggisberg Cheese you can try their award-winning Baby Swiss that wins 1st place almost every year at State and local competitions.  If you want to pick up a unique gift for someone, try Wendell August Forge.  There are only 2 in the USA and we've got one here in Berlin.  If you are a wine lover then you can tour about 10 different wineries within an hour radius.  Some have restaurants and gift shops too.  If you like yard ornaments you have got to visit Bowden Bells where most everything in their gift shop is made from recycled materials.   Whether you are in to historical homes or haunted places you will find both under one roof at the Victorian House Museum.  If you are a tree-hugger then you will want to hike or bike the Rails to Trail path or visit The Wilderness Center.  From fine gifts to flea markets, make sure you save time to visit the Amish-owned businesses.  You will find furniture craftsmen, quilt shops, candle makers, leather workers, general stores, bulk foods and more!  There is so much to do that the hard part will be deciding how many nights to stay.  You could easily stay for 1 week and not see everything there is to see and do in Holmes County, Ohio.  For the best experience be sure to stay at a bed and breakfast where the owners and staff will help you to find the kinds of places that you want to visit while sharing with you information about the local culture.
