Ohio Amish Country Bed and Breakfast: What to Expect

The Professional Association of Innkeepers International conducted a study a while back and asked people why they chose a hotel over a bed and breakfast.  One of the more popular answers was that they didn't know what to expect.  One award-winning Ohio Amish Country bed and breakfast would like to share exactly what you can expect.  The name is Garden Gate Get-A-Way Bed & Breakfast and they are located in Millersburg, Ohio.  Before you arrive you receive a confirmation that includes B&B policies and the offer to arrange back road tours, spa treatments, fine dining reservations, etc.  When you arrive you are warmly greeted and asked how your innkeepers can help you to experience their area.   Whether you want to shop for Amish furniture, visit wineries, golf, go to a flea market, visit fine gift shops or Amish owned businesses, take a tour, etc., your innkeepers can help map out or plan your itinerary.   Some people are concerned about privacy.  At this bed and breakfast guests have a private entrance to their room and a private bath.  Privacy is something that you can enjoy and yet if you are more social and want to visit with other guests there are common areas, porch swings, and areas where you can visit with other people.  Your innkeepers can help you with directions to restaurants that serve the kinds of food that you would like for dinner.  After dinner you will find that most shops in Ohio Amish Country are closed.  The restaurants close earlier than the big city but you have choices:  You can return to your room and watch TV or a video.  You can gather around the evening campfire with other guests an unwind from your busy day.  You innkeepers always have marshmallows on hand to roast if you are interested.  At Garden Gate Get-A-Way Bed & Breakfast guests may bring their own alcoholic beverages to drink around the campfire or bring some coffee, tea or hot chocolate that is provided by your innkeepers.   The guest rooms that are offered range from standard/traditional to a Jacuzzi suite with a fireplace.  The innkeepers offer deluxe mattresses on the beds, high thread-count sheets, 5-star amenites, and more in-room items to pamper you.  The next morning you can indulge in a homemade breakfast that is cooked from scratch.    The rest of your day is up to you...Do you want to stay back at the B&B and relax on a glider rocker, go shopping in one of the local towns, explore Amish culture, or perhaps visit a winery?  You are free to do what you would like to do.  How will your bed and breakfast stay be different from a hotel?  Your B&B stay will offer more privacy, customized concierge services, delicious food, tips to secret places, and as much privacy as you may want.  You just have to try a bed and breakfast stay so that you can see for yourself what makes them more special than other places.
