Ohio Wine Tours are Nothing to Wine About

Ohio continues to become a big wine producer and you can even take Ohio Wine Tours.   In northeast Ohio there are several wineries to take note of:  Ravens Glenn Winery is  5 years old and started with approximately 1000 gallons of wine in the first year and they expect to produce over 80,000 gallons this year.  Whether you prefer dry, semi-sweet or sweet wines they have something for everyone.  Breitenbach Winery is Ohio's 2nd largest winery.  They are known for their Dandelion dessert wine and annual Dandelion Festival every May.  Name a fruit and they make a wine from it.  If you prefer dry wines you will find something for your palate there too.  For atmosphere head up to Canton to the new Gervasi Vineyards.  You will think that you are Italy.  Sit in the Piazza over looking a lake and sip on some wine or Sangria.  Rainbow Hills offers more than just wine.  On summer weekends you can make reservations for a barbeque.  You get to grill your own meat that they provide along with side dishes.  Each couple gets a bottle of wine to drink with their dinner.  There's a new kid in town...Yellow Butterfly Winery.  It is situated in Blue Ridge Valley in Tuscarawas County with beautiful views.   They even have alpacas on the property.   There are more wineries in these area, but these are just a few of the highlights.  Garden Gate Get-A-Way Bed & Breakfast offers Ohio Wine Tours.  The 2010 tours are done for the year but starting in January 2011 there will be approximatly 1 tour per month.  In 2011 tours will start late morning and go through the entire day including lunch and dinner.  Guests will sample locally made cheese, wine and indulge in some great food.
