Amish Country Ohio Bed and Breakfast Suggests Thanksgiving in Holmes County

If your family and friends are in other states this year then try an Ohio bed and breakfast and spend Thanksgiving in Amish Country.   Visiting Holmes County, Ohio will remind you of the old song, "Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go..."  You will find rolling hills, farms, and delicious, home cooking.  Guests at Garden Gate Get-A-Way Bed & Breakfast can check-in and unwind at a campfire in the evening the night before Thanksgiving Day.  On the holiday you will awaken to a breakfast that is made from scratch to start your day.  Afterwards you may want to take a drive through the back roads and take in the beautiful scenery.  In the afternoon the innkeepers can make Thanksgiving Dinner reservations for you at one of our local restaurants.  You can choose from a more traditional meal or a fine dining experience.  That evening when you're looking for something light to eat you will find a cheese & cracker plate in your room with locally made cheeses.  Unwind at the campfire once again to end a relaxing holiday.   Friday and Saturday are special times in Amish Country.  There is Christmas in Berlin featuring a living nativity parade down Main Street in the evening.  There are several open houses to start off your Christmas shopping.  The Victorian House Museum in Millersburg is decorated for the holidays and is open for tours that weekend as well.  A stop at Coblentz Chocolate Company will find stocking stuffers, Christmas gifts, and holiday treats.  The Amish bakeries are a must stop too.  You can purchase some mouth-watering baked goods to take home and freeze for the holidays.  Let your innkeepers map out directions to some of the off-the-beaten-path shops and crafters to purchase some unique Christmas gifts.  A visit to an Amish Country Ohio bed and breakfast will give you a Thanksgiving that you won't soon forget.
