Jello Flinging and Idols Singing this 4th of July Weekend

If you have ever visited Amish Country Ohio you know that it is like taking a step back in time.  The busy city life slows down and this 4th of July weekend is no exception.  Historic Downtown Millersburg is hosting Thunder Over Holmes County.  On Friday evening you will experience an "American Idol" like experience while pigging out at the food vendor stands.  On Saturday there are activities from Noon until the fireworks display around 10 p.m.  When was the last time you participated in a Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest?  Have you ever been involved in a Jello Flinging Contest?   How about an old-fashioned pie eating contest?  There will also be a Civil War Interactive Booth, Courthouse Tours in our Historical Courthouse, bands playing, a strolling magician, and plenty of food.  At 8 p.m. the Wright Patterson Air Force Band of Flight Prism Brass ensemble will put on a concert at the square.  This concert can only be topped by the beautiful fireworks display at the end of the night.  Make it a weekend, stay at a bed and breakfast, and take an Ohio Amish Country Tour to learn about the culture and customs in the area.  Explore the many shops, antiques, wineries, cheese factories, chocolate factory, and more.
