Amish Prepare for Easter in Holmes County

Tourists who visit Holmes County, Ohio are curious about how the Amish live and if their lifestyle mirrors their own in any way.  Each time a holiday comes up they ask local business owners how the Amish celebrate that holiday.  Easter is probably the most important holiday for the Amish as it is in many religions.  Everything that they are taught in church revolves around the Easter story in the Bible. Many Amish communities have special church services that involve foot washing and communion as part of the Easter celebration.  Many Amish families gather for a special meal and fellowship just as Christians in non-Amish communities do.  While Amish clothes may be different from yours, and Amish buggies are different from driving cars, the Amish are more like you than you may think.
