Spend an Evening at the Theater on Your Next Amish Country Visit

The next time you visit Amish Country you don't have worry about many of the shops closing at 5 p.m. because you have some theater options to fill your evenings.  Of course when you stay at Garden Gate Get-A-Way Bed & Breakfast you might just want to relax at our evening campfires or swing on a porch swing.

The Performing Arts Center at Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus has everything from Celtic Nights to Driving Miss Daisy to Vince Gill!  These venues sell out fast so you will want to make your reservations well in advance.

The live theater at Carlisle Inn in Sugarcreek offers Amish-themed shows.  From June through August 2014 the play is The Confession which is based on a Beverly Lewis book.  From August through December the play is called Half-Stitched and is based on the best selling book by Wanda Brunstetter.  They also have afternoon matinees on some dates.

Amish Country Theater is located in the old flea market building in Walnut Creek.  The theater itself is designed like you are inside a barn.  The shows run on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and are family-fun, comedy, variety shows.  There are singers, skits, comedians, and even a ventriloquist.

To top off your Amish Country experience, bring friends and let our bed and breakfast schedule an area tour, dinner in an authentic Amish home, or other experience just for your small group in addition to the theater.
